Bonding, bonding strength
The many different types of abrasives used in conjunction with electric power tools must fulfil a broad range of requirements. For the certification of these abrasives you need information on the
1. type of abrasive used
2. bond of the abrasive grain
3. grain size or grit
4. hardness of the abrasive grain
5. texture
6. dimensions, diameter and maximum circumference speed
The adhesive strength indicates how strong the bond between the abrasive grain and the abrasive body or backing is. A worn-out and blunt grain is meant to break away from the grit texture to enable another unused grain to continue in its place.
