Sliced veneer
This type of veneer is produced on veneer slicers. The production method is very economical because there is very little wood wasted. However, the wood has to be softened first by immersion which alters the colour in many instances. Slicing also tends to produce fissures and tears on the underside of the veneer.
Typical sliced veneers are stripe veneers and crown-cut veneers
