SDS-plus tool insertion system
SDS-plus is a 10 mm tool fitting system for drilling and percussive application tools developed by BOSCH in 1975. Today SDS-plus is used worldwide in some 90% of all hammers in the range up to 4 kg. SDS-plus has the following advantages:
-Â tool-free changing of drill bits/chisels with automatic locking feature
-Â drill bit locking and torque transmission are separate
-Â loss-free torque transmission with 60 mm2 contact surface,
-Â high drill bit quality through chrome-nickel-molybdenum alloy.
SDS stands for Special Direct System.
