SDS-max
SDS-max is an 18 mm tool holder system developed by BOSCH for rotary-hammer and percussive application tools for drilling, chiselling and caulking with large hammers over 5 kg. The purpose of the introduction of this new tool fitting system was to standardise the tool-free switching of application tools for 80% of heavy-duty rotary hammers and hammer drills. Three ridges with a combined surface of 180 mm2 ensure loss-free torque transfer. The standardisation provided by the SDS-max tool fitting system has reduced the number of available types and has led to a reduction in stock keeping.
