Accumulateur nickel-cadmium

Rechargeable battery cells with electrodes made of nickel and a cadmium compound. The NiCd batteries used in power tools are rather small, light-weight and function in every position. They are robust and maintenance-free. Despite their small dimensions, they have a considerable output. They deliver high operation current, and a large number of charge/discharge cycles are possible. Cadmium compounds are very poisonous. Therefore NiCd batteries must be returned to controlled recycling (through your power tool dealer) and under no circumstances should they be simply thrown away.
