This universal detector localizes the most different materials in the wall, which include not only electrical wires, reinforcing steel, water pipes as well as other metals. Even plastic pipes and cavities ? and this is new and unique worldwide ? are reliably and precisely located to a depth of 100 mm. Moreover, the Wallscanner does not require any calibration before starting work.

In the detection process, the craftsman moves the Wallscanner over the area in which he intends to work. The instrument generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field, which penetrates into brick, concrete and prefab slabs. Materials and cavities which differ in their physico-electrical properties from the wall material cause a distortion of this field. The field changes in combination with additional path information provided by the sensors in the wheels of the D-tect 100 are evaluated by a high-performance signal processor for display.
