Tool identification plate
The tool identification plate is the ID or passport of a power tool. It contains the technical data required to identify and characterise the appliance.
In accordance with national and international safety regulations, tool identification plates must contain the following data:
-Â Name or trademark and manufacturer?s origin
-Â Manufacturer?s model or trade name
-Â Voltage rating (V)
-Â Symbol for the type of current (e. g. F for alternating voltage)
-Â Frequency rating (Hz)
-Â Power rating (W)
-Â Current rating (A)
-Â with some tools: idling speed
-Â with double insulated power tools: symbol for protection class II.
Marks of conformity can also be included. In addition the prescribed CE certification is shown on the tool identification plate.

7 rated input (W)
8 date of production and serial number
(1st - 3rd digit = date of production;
4th - 8th digit = serial number)
9 protection class
10 factory ID number
11 nominal idling speed (RPM)
12 here: max. disc diameter
13 CE = Certificat Europa
(EC conformity symbol)
14 country-specific marks of conformity
