The service life of power tools as of all other technical products depends not only on their construction or design but to a much larger degree on their handling, application, operating time and regular maintenance. Power tools for trade and industry usually have to deliver many more operating hours than DIY tools. This circumstance is reflected in the constructive dimension of individual power tool categories. The difference in price between professionally used power tools and DIY tools also results from their different service life expectancy.
