Round shank drill bits
Round-shank drill bits are drill bits of commercial size with cylindrical shanks whose diameters of up to 13 mm generally correspond to their operational diameter. With working diameters of more than 13 mm the shank diameter is usually reduced. Carbide-tipped drill bits are used for drilling in rock, with standard tips and special grind for drilling in steel, wood and plastics.
