Positive drive-control
A positive drive can be recognised by the fact that the lower mounting flange of an angle grinder is either screwed to the drive shaft or firmly linked to it by an interlocking surface. In the case of random orbit sanders positive drive means that the sanding disc is driven by a transmission, which is the opposite of free drive where the rotary motion of the sanding plate is generated by centrifugal power.
