Overload clutch
Universal motors develop a high restoring torque which has to be absorbed by the power tool operator if the accessory gets stuck. An overload clutch separates the mechanical power train preventing the torque build-up in cases where strong restoring torque could injure the operator. BOSCH overload clutches serve this purpose.
