No-name products
International name for merchandise from unknown origins. Frequently, no-name products are imported from countries where governments are interested in earning foreign currency by tolerating or supporting the production of unlicensed copies which look very similar to the original products. Only at first glance, no-name products appear to be good value. As a matter of fact they are both cheap and expensive: looking at the low purchase price, they are cheap; however, when you look for quality, they are rather expensive. Independent researchers have determined a service life of well un-
der one hour in many cases. In addition, many no-name appliances pay little regard to safety. Technical service and marketing support for the trade are virtually non-existent. Often the quality symbols are invalid or simply copied. Independent test institutes do not recommend the purchase of no-name brands.
