Heavy-duty anchors are fixing elements which can carry heavy loads in excess of 1.5 kN. As a rule, these are steel anchors which are almost exclusively installed in concrete.

There are three main groups:

- the expansion anchor with frictional hold

- the undercut anchor with positive interlocking hold

- the chemical anchor with material bonding
