O-Ring
An O-ring is a round type of seal which is usually made of rubber or plastic. It is positioned in a groove. The seal ring compacts when pressure is applied and ensures a tight seal.
O-rings are often found on socket nuts for impact wrenches. Here they serve as rubber retainer rings to secure the holding pin and to prevent it from it being expelled by centrifugal force.
