Nickel metal-hydride (NiMh) batteries
Rechargeable battery cells with electrodes made of nickel and a metal alloy with embedded hydrogen. Physically, metal hydride refers to hydrogen which is embedded in metal. The hydrogen is therefore not freely present as a gas in the battery cell, but it is physically bound in a metal electrode.
The NiMh batteries used in power tools are rather small, light-weight and function in every position. They are robust and maintenance-free. Despite their small dimensions, they have a considerable capacity. The materials used here are environmentally neutral and do not cause any problems in the recycling process.
