Preventative, additional safety measure which should be used when working with a rubber backing pad and fibre sanding sheets. An angled steel plate is attached with the help of the auxiliary handle thread on the transmission housing of the angle grinder which protects the hand against contact with the rotating sanding plate. On sheet metal shears the metal chip produced by the cut is deflected away from the hand.
