Dual-beam prism
Accessory for construction lasers. In a dual-beam prism the laser beam is split in two. One half continues on straight ahead, and the other half is deflected at an angle of 90°. The dual-beam prism is used to project and verify right angles. (See also ?Pentaprism?)

A
Pentaprism:
Even if the prism
stands at the angle,
the outgoing beam
will, at an angle of 90°
be deflected from
the incoming beam.
B
45° mirror:
If the mirror stands
at an angle, the outgoing
beam will no longer
be deflected at an angle
of 90° from the incoming beam.
