Compression hammer mechanism
The compression hammer mechanism of an electropneumatic hammer consists of a crankshaft, a piston and a striker. These components convert the rotary motion into stroke motion. The piston generates vacuum and compression in quick succession which make the striker accelerate. The striker can reach speeds of 8 to 10 m/sec. Its energy is transferred to the striking pin and the accessory. The result is efficient and nearly effortless drilling and chiselling even in the hardest concrete.
