Device to adjust the belt travel. The sanding belt is inserted and centered exactly with an adjusting knob while the tool is running in order to prevent the belt from running off during operation. Centering also stops the belt from slipping off and getting caught inside the machine housing which can be most inconvenient. This risk is often eliminated by pieces of metal or ceramics placed inside the housing.
