Asbestos
Asbestos is a mineral fibre with good insulation properties and high resistance against heat. The very brittle asbestos fibres split under pressure into microscopic particles which can be cancerous if inhaled.
Working with asbestos is governed by special regulations because of the health hazards involved. Sanding asbestos is generally prohibited. The governing regulations for the prevention of accidents by your country's employer's liability insurance associations and the rules laid down by the construction supervisory bodies must be strictly observed.
