Bevel gearing
Type of transmission in which the effective direction is deflected by usually 90°. The gears used in it have a tapered geometry. If they are about the same size they are called bevel gear pairs. If there is quite a difference in size, the smaller gear wheel is called pinion and the larger one ring gear.
